New Workshop - Using Social Media to find your Dream Job

Wednesday August 5. 7:00pm Assumption Hall

Social networks (Twitter, Facebook LinkedIn) are starting to become part of the criteria that both hiring managers and college admissions officers are using to weed out applicants. One in five hiring managers conduct background checks using social networks (primarily Facebook), while one in ten college admissions officers do the same.

Today’s career environment is different. What’s different is that there are more ways to influence getting a job than in the past. You probably already know that the old saying is true: “it’s not what you know; it’s who you know.” Well, the people you know has expanded a bit, thanks to social networks, and what people know about you has grown, too, thanks in part to the various tools you can employ in social media.

During this presentation you will learn how to use the major Social Media Application to help you not only get you a job, but help you create your own dream job!
